So, Al Gore ‘created’ the internet and John McCain is ‘aware’ of the internet.

You know, you just can’t make this stuff up.

Actually, its probably a lot like FDR. That three term President was “aware” of walking, he just couldn’t do it. He did know how it changed people’s life, however!

McCain, like many of his generation, probably doesn’t use a computer too often, and probably only uses it for a very few simple activities. Maybe email or typing a simple note/letter (which someone else then edits and formats). Does this mean he is “unfit” to be President?

Uh…..No! That’s why you have a staff! McCain can’t perform a heart transplant either, but he knows how it can affect a family as well as the individual. And he can certainly help craft health care policy even if he can’t perform any function that a health professional might do with their eyes closed! He probably can’t take a blood pressure reading, but Obama probably can’t do that either.

By the way. Can Obama fly a jet? Can he bring firepower to bear on an enemy target? Isn’t that kind of important for a Commander in Chief of the military? Lots of electronics in a jet! If Obama can use a computer really well, why can’t he fly a jet?

Yeah, because a heart transplant, flying a jet and jumping online are so similar. Unlike surgery or flying, utilizing the internet takes no skill or training. And it takes even less knowledge to simply be ‘aware’ of something.

And who said he’s unfit to be president *because* of his statement about being ‘aware’ of the internet? I swear you just make shit up sometimes.

And if you noticed, I also poked fun at Al Gore for his statement about the internet.

Oh, but I forgot, you aren’t able to notice anything like that, are you? Nope. As soon as you perceive a slight against McCain or Bush or anyone who a liberal might criticize your knee jerks up so fast it hits you in the eye and those fingers of yours fly across the keyboard with some smart-ass response…

Relax and try taking yourself and your candidate a little less seriously.

    Same old, same old

I think you are being a bit harsh here. I have criticized McCain myself right here on your blog. And I have agreed with you that he has “shifted” (flip flopped) his postion on several occasions. I have also admitted that Bush did a lousy job in Iraq. I have also said I didn’t agree with the decision to invade Iraq, but once there we can’t just abandon it. And I have supported your views on “choice”.

When you take a “cheap shot” at Republicans in general, or McCain specifically, then yes, I will shoot back with a “smart-ass” remark. Kinda turnabout being fair-play and all!

And, despite your Gore remark, complaining about McCain’s computer literacy is a bit of low-hanging fruit that is really not too relevant to the national issues in play. So when you make a “smart-ass” observation, you can expect one back.
