It wasn’t clear to me if she approved the making of the calendar because if she did, she could possibly get proceeds but it probably isn’t a good political PR move.

To be fair I looked for a Hillary calendar and couldn’t find one and I am going to look for an Obama calendar because I am sure one probably exists and if so, I will provide a link to it.

So, I take it that you consider picture of people in parkas and on snowmobiles to be “sexy”?
Somehow, this kind of smacks of a “sexist” critique that is demeaning to women. Why classify it as “sexy” instead of just “homey” or “great photography”? There is no picture of her in any outfit less than full coverage (no swimsuit pictures despite your desire for such a picture of Obama). Is your evaluation that anyone who is “photogenic” is somehow “selling sex”?
As for the “Obama calendar”, you need to be in D.C. There is a huge “orgasm” of Obama emblozoned material available here. And commemorative coins and other memorabilia (including network produced CDs and DVDs) available to the consumers.
